Highbourne Cay is a remote private island with a deep, naturally sheltered marina and cottages. IPC was commissioned to create landscapes for the resort that would highlight the unique ecology of the region. Project development consisted of the transplant and relocation of mature plants trees from construction footprints along with extensive native habitat restoration.
In both landscape and architecture, the ultimate ambition of the project was used to create a genuine native Bahamian vernacular – a feeling that sailors have been experiencing on the islands throughout modern history. Completed in 2012.
