Netscape is a 24-seat web of hanging chairs by German designer Konstanin Grcic. The interactive work consists of a six-point star-shaped modular steel frame, from which seats made of fiberglass and polypropylene netting are suspended to form a series of hammock-like swings that rock gently when used by visitors.
As a part of IPC’s landsacpe masterplan of the Design District, we collaborated with Grcic to integrate vining plants onto the installation, eventually intended to cover the piece in a canopy of trailing, flowering vegetation.
