IPC provided landscape design for this private resort, located on the Kenyan coast of the Indian Ocean, just north of the Marine National Park in Malindi. Initially we encountered a beach overgrown with invasive, non-native trees and a construction area devoid of vegetation.

IPC undertook extensive plant removal followed by dune and beach restoration. Construction scarring, privacy screening, and the formal landscape design elements were all addressed with locally sourced plants and trees. The most interesting aspect of this project was that all work was done without access to machinery. IPC directed the transplanting of hundreds of trees, including palms up to 40 feet tall, by local manual labor.
